This window is reached from the Absent Parent Maintenance window by highlighting a child(ren)’s name in the Deprived Children Names List Box, then selecting Action on the menu bar, then Child Support Cooperation/Paternity from the drop down menu. It also opens when creating a new absent parent for a deprived child listed on the Absent Parent Maintenance window.
This window is used to enter or change information regarding paternity and/or cooperation (including Good Cause for non cooperation) with Child Support Enforcement for the selected child(ren).
Case Number, Benefit Month
Absent Parent Name – Displays the Last, First, MI andSFX of the Absent Parent for the child selected on the Absent Parent Maintenance window.
Custodian Name - Displays the Last, First, MI andSFX of the Custodial Parent for the child selected on the Absent Parent Maintenance window.
Deprived Children Names List Box
Deprived Children Names – Displays the names of all deprived children selected from the Absent Parent Maintenance window for the displayed Absent Parent and Custodian.
Paternity Code – Displays the two-digit code for each child.
Code/Paternity Description List Box
Code - Displays a two-digit code for the selected Paternity Description.
Paternity Description – Displays the full description of the types of Paternity. Select the type that is correct for the child listed in the Deprived Children Names List Box.
Cooperation Group Box
TANF – Drop down list is used to select the custodian’s type of cooperation with Child Support Enforcement for the TANF program.
Medicaid - Drop down list is used to select the custodian’s type of cooperation with Child Support Enforcement for the Medicaid program.
TANF Up-Front Eligibility Radio Buttons - Yes (Select this button if the Caretaker Relative has complied with TANF Up-Front Eligibility rules for Child Support <PASS>) No (Select this radio button if the Caretaker relative has not complied with TANF Up- Front Eligibility rules for Child Support <FAIL.) Pend (System defaults to this radio button and if the information to determine whether a Caretaker relative has complied with TANF Up-Front eligibility rules for Child Support is pending, then leave this button selected. <PEND>)
Good Cause Information Group Box – These fields are enabled when the cooperation type of ‘Good Cause’ is selected.
Status - Select the radio button that reflects the status of the Good Cause determination.
Good Cause - Drop down list to select the reason for the custodian’s claim of Good Cause for non-cooperation with Child Support Enforcement.
Start Date – Enter the start date (MM-DD-YYYY) for the claim of Good Cause for Non-cooperation with Child Support Enforcement. (This field is required when the Good Cause reason is selected.)
Pend Date – Enter the effective date (MM-DD-YYYY) of the Pend status for the Good Cause Determination.
Determination Date – Enter the effective date (MM-DD-YYYY) of the Approved orDenied status for the Good Cause determination.
Effective End Date – Enter the ending date (MM-DD-YYYY) of the Approved status of the Good Cause determination.
OK , Apply, Cancel
The Child Support Cooperation/Paternity window opens after creating the new absent parent with the names of all children to be associated with this absent parent listed in the Deprived Children List Box
Highlight the child(ren) in the Deprived Children List Box
Multi-select list box and can select more than one child if Paternity Code is the same for all
Select a Paternity Code that corresponds with that child(ren).
Select the Apply push button
Only enabled after Paternity Code is selected for highlighted child(ren)
Repeat steps until all children are assigned a paternity code.
Select the appropriate Cooperation code from the drop down list for each program, if applicable
Select the OK push button
NOTE: Child Support Good Cause overrides the TANF Up-Front 'No' or 'Pend' selection and TANF passes on the Eligibility Summary window
